Some say the summer months bring out the best in us. So, it’s no surprise that many of my single friends are now signing up to various dating websites, planning socials and overall going out more. I guess it’s true, we often do feel more positive in the summer and if you’re like me, you dream of those romantic summer dates and spontaneous adventures. My advice is that we take that extra step and embrace summer dating. Here’s my 5 reasons why.
People are generally happier.
We can’t deny that people, in general, tend to smile a little more in the summer months and whilst for some, appearance is key, having a vibrant, positive personality alongside that beautiful smile is often the winning factor in finding that special someone.
My advice is to stay positive, have fun with friends and family and don’t put too much pressure on yourself to find a relationship – remember positive energy attracts positive energy. So focus on loving yourself first, and the rest will follow…
Opportunity to tick off your bucket list.
The (mostly) warm weather gives us more opportunity to explore different activities and go on those spontaneous adventures! Take a walk through the country side, drive to the beach, go for picnics, complete Go Ape! The list is endless and having the opportunity to create memories with someone you love makes it even more special!
It’s a great way to get to know someone and meet someone who shares the same interests. However, it’s important to remember to always stay safe, particularly on a first date. Always let family and friends know where you’re going and who you’re with and try to stay in a busy area where you can get home safely.
More time to socialise.
Lets face it, in winter all we want to do after a long days work is snuggle up at home in front of the TV with hot chocolate, cream, marshmallows…in fact, that’s starting to sound a lot better than a boyfriend…
Anyway. In summer the days are longer, the evenings are warmer, the wine is chilled – so there is more freedom and time to meet that special someone. Remember, every new day presents new opportunities – don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, interact and connect with different people – it could lead you to your greatest journey yet!
One thing I love about summer is having the freedom to wear those floaty (and comfortable) dresses, shorts, sandals – the works! I feel like you can have more fun with fashion in the summer, it’s time to shed those layers and experiment with brighter colours, bolder prints and new styles. Overall, this new season brings the chance to embrace your own style and try new things – which naturally helps us feel and look better. So, refresh your summer wardrobe and show off that favourite outfit!…And remember, don’t be afraid to show off some skin!
